Combo Meal

I haven't posted anything for like 28 years now so I'm going to make up for it by posting this combo meal. Here are some of the shoes that I finished before I graduated from college last April.

Carmela's Owls

Carmela is lover of good books and good music. She is also a good student and her sarcasm is beautiful. And like most girls who have these characteristics, she also loves Owls. Here are pictures of the battered shoes that I painted for her. It is one of my favorites but seeing it faded and battered only makes me feel happy.

Ali's
Ali wanted the design to be simple and easy to match with different clothes. How do you do that with Kero Keroppi? Well, here's my solution.
When I showed this to my classmates, one of the guys exclaimed, "Ang cute! Grabe, sobrang cute!".
And I was like,  "O_o".

Hannah's 2NE1 Shoes
Hannah is big fan of K-pop and I was her fan. Together with her friends, she joined an org competition, impersonating 2NE1 and they won! I wasn't a fan of K-pop but I was thrilled when she asked me to do this challenging design. Well, for me it was challenging because I wasn't that good in drawing complicated things. I  do caricatures and doodles. But I have never tried to do anything as detailed as this before.

Camille's Project Psychmates
Camille is a very sweet, smart, and shopaholic friend of mine. When she saw my shoe art, her shopaholic cells  raged and did not stop bothering her (and in extension, bothered me) until I produces this colorful caricature of the whole Psychology block.

Kim at the Sesame Street
Kim is Carmela's very shy classmate. The first time we met, Carmela dragged her in front of me and announced that the girl wanted to order shoes from me but was too shy to ask. So I told her, well, don't be shy! I need money!
So here are the shoes that paid for a field trip or a textbook. I don't remember.

Camine, Naruto, and Hinata
Carmine is Carmela's quirky and not at all shy classmate. She is a cosplayer and a Naruto fan. Being a fan of the anime myself, I was excited when she asked me to do this commission. I ship Naruto and Hinata, too.

I know this was very lazy of me to just fit all these shoes into one blog entry. Well, why not? This was how they fitted into my schedule anyway. I painted during the weekends and breaks between classes. Commissions were competing against my thesis, my duties with the GradComm, Chem and all the other course requirements. I loved college and I loved studying Psychology but I'm glad that I won't be returning to school and all the extracurriculars for a few years yet.

This is all for now. Next, I will be writing about my Daria shirt. :D
